SNB has reviewed the “Guidelines for Agency Nurses/ Midwives and Nursing Agencies Engaging Them” and some amendments have been made to the Guideline.

The guidance reaffirms that everyone has the right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion, and to freedom of expression. However, there may be circumstances where a professional says or does something that could impact their fitness to practise, meaning we may need to take action. 

The College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) is committed to working with our partners in government to support the health care system. This includes collaborating across the system to reduce barriers to timely registration.

CNO is leading regulatory change in Canada in lockstep with this country’s health system priorities. A recent meeting of federal, provincial and territorial health Ministers outlined key shared priorities, including a national commitment to strengthen nursing health human resources.

The Interstate Commission of Nurse Licensure Compact Administrators announces new Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) rules which were adopted at its Aug. 15, 2023 Annual Business Meeting. Among the most notable changes in the NLC rules is a rule pertaining to the requirement of nurses when relocating and therefore, changing a primary state of residence.

Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland's Registration Committee has extended the period of validity for English Language test results for a defined cohort of applicants.

The Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) has partnered with the Burnet Institute and colleagues to conduct a comprehensive review of the midwifery workforce. The review is meant to inform the NMBA, government and the profession more broadly of potential regulatory, policy or other solutions to address any issues identified.
